1954 Tokai Stratocaster Reissue 2 tone burst $ SOLD
Here we have an 27+ old original Vintage Goldstar Sound model #80 This Tokai ix a very Rare 1954 Reissue Vintage 2 Tone Burst Stratocaster that dates to around 1982-83 and are among the very last of the true "law Suit" Golden Era models made ,some say these are the very best there I said it. This guitar is an AMAZING 100% Original example w/ an Alder Body that quite nicely figured like the old real one's ... with a very accurately masterfully applied 2 tone sunburst finish in what looks to be a nitrocellulose lacquer. The very nicely figured maple neck is superbly fretted and action is quite ez. Great intonation and this guitar stays in tune very well. Original Vintage Tremolo block and interestingly is the same composition and is virtually identical to the Fender Original 1960's old pre cbs strats we have in stock..."cant really tell the difference" Tokai did an excellent job recreating the actual characteristics of the real vitage strat.. Original Tokai Gray bottomed Staggered & beveled pole pickups & sounds like a true Vintage Stratocaster should sound this one has it!!!"BELL CHIME TONE" ( those pickups were specially made for Tokai by Semour Duncan back in the day... Duncan went all out to recreate the sound he was all so familiar with,,, He knew what he was doing... I have been loving these Tokais 20 years now and just found out that Duncan was behind those great sounding gray bottom pickups... ps the " U" pickups = also great sounding. No wonder SRV endorsed Tokai's they get that SRV tone ... I played this one threw our 63' Supro 1624t amp ...OMG ...what great tone! this is one of the best Tokai's ever, and we have had many vintage Tokai models over the years now from 57 R/I to 64 R/I and this one is a GREAT Tokai Strat! NO NEED FOR FENDER's CUSTOM SHOP REISSUES! This guitar will not take a back seat... this will supprise & blow some minds though....These Tokai's from the 70's & early 80's are true Vintage guitars!! ** this example is well over 27 years old although it looks almost new and is in above average condition...The Fender Custom Shop "brown" ext Vintage Reproduction Hard Shell Case this guitar is pictured in is an optional purchase and is available for purchase for $ 170.00.
