Danelectro Nifty -70 Vintage Repro styled 15 watt Great Jazz / Harp Amp! $165
This is a cool 50's looking 15 watt made as a Bass amp..She's a few years old now and in very good condition please see the pics for those details... while it was made and mainly marketed as a great small 15 watt Bass amp ..for which a many bass players say its quite good for bass practice...its solid state with an 8" speaker running @ 4 olms ...This modle nifty -70 Danelectro amp has really risen in popularity as a very well received nice little guitar amp. I read the reviews for myself they were kind of impressive for a economical little amp like this...Here is what I thought of it.. 1st of all I think it looks pretty Retro cool and like its looks and fits well in my livingroom or office...I turned it on and snap unlike a tube amp she's ON ready to go...I plugged my nice les paul in...and I noticed at low to mid volume it has a clear and sweet tone ...lending itself to a sweet jazz like sound with alot of clarity and the tone controls were very responsive to slight adjustment so you can really dial in a nice lower volume varried jazz tones...( well done ) I would think it nice for recordings...its prety quiet too, and then I cranked it up all the way up full on...and it gets pretty darn loud and sounds like you have a classic 70's fuzzbox in line...think in the godavida fuzz...back off the volume and mess with the tone adjustments and you can get a nice gain / distortion sound...( great gain tones for Harp in his range just dial it in to your liking ) so low volume is sweet and loud is nasty and in your face... my take is its EZ on the eyes and is prety darn good for under $200 practice and low volume or distortion recording... the 8" speaker..I removed the back and checked it out..its a 4olm ... and I noticed it has more room for possibly a swap for a 10" speaker if one wanted to do that...or even a killer speaker upgrade...you know the original list was only like $179-200 or so on the N70's...so a killer speaker costs more than that so you get the idea..if you put a killer 8" JBL in this thing fot instance it may be the king of the world.
Anyway she's a great little amp capable of some very nice tones to be "dialed in"...just for fun I ran a mic in and cranked it up and played harmonica thew this little amp and it freaked everyone out...its also a great harp amp!...who new?...not bad for the bucks...she's a good catch.. any questions or ready to purchase?... drop me an email gr8bids@comcast.net
