76 Aria Pro II AW40 Japan exotic Brazilian Rosewood Superb     76 Aria Pro II AW40 Japan exotic Brazilian Rosewood Superb

Here we have another Vintage classic Japanese exotic tone woods GREAT find this example a beautiful pretty much exact copy of a vntage Martin D-45 ... this is a very High Quality built Lawsuit era Aria Pro II Model AW40. Made in Japan. From information on the Internet concerning dating these, the guitar's serial number would lead to 1976 manufacture. However, I could not find the AW40 model cataloged until the late 70's... but its a 76.. is consistent with all others. THIS is one beautiful guitar! it exudes fine detailed craftsmanship this was Aria's flagship dreadnought of this time period with D41-ish features. From an original vintage Aria catalog, AW40 features include: "Dreadnought sized, Solid Sitka Spruce top, Solid Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, bridge fingerboard and veneer headstock overlay with MOP logo, Marquetry Purfling" ( Top looks to be solid with the sides & back appears to me to be laminated )The catalog can be viewed at matsumoku.org, a site that deals with the history of Matsumoku made instruments like Aria, Electra and others. 1972 Goya G-320SB Japan crafted $529.00     1972 Goya G-320SB Japan crafted $529.00

Here we are proud to have in stock today is a Cool one she's pretty rare too its a real vintage guitar its actually 42year old in fact. This is a great old Vintage Goya Acoustic Dreadnought Guitar by CF Martin & company. This guitar was built in the early 1970s in Japan when Martin had thought that it was a good way to address the Japanese high quality lower priced Japanese guitars cutting into their bottom line so Martin commissioned Goya of Japan to build their competitive to the US line "import" line ( Japan because no other country at that time was building anything close to the high quality guitars like Japan was making " China , India, Twain was not even a consideration Japan was in another league obviously to those countries... so Goya was commissioned back in the day this pre dates Sigma Japan... This was built durring the time frame when the Japanes builders had some of the best quality woods available to them and were setting out to show the world what they could really do. This is a great example with both fine quality qoods used from the high grade mahogany to the solid spruce top to the rich dark Brazilian rosewood looking fingerboards they selected wow impressive work...Kept in great shape all these years 42 years see the pics it looks more like its 3 years old then 42... here today for a song we believe this example was built in Nagoya by the great Terada, that is pretty much the Custom shop builders in Japan they are responsible for the GB10 George Benson Ibanez line, They made the high end Ibanez Artists, The Gretch reissues, some other fine models as well as their own Tereda guitars. On to this baby The top is book matched SOLID AAA Spruce and the sides and back are mahogany, probably laminated but they seam to match?. either way *AWESOME* The SB model has a beautiful transparent cherry sunburst finish that is still so glossy looking it can pass for much newer but its 36 years old!. The Neck is also solid AAA mahogany with a beautiful rich looking rosewood fingerboard may be Brazilian Rosewood . The neck is RARE with a nicely v shaped which feels really good to me I think you'll be please with the feel as well. Setup done by our in house luthier & plays like butta now with a new set of acoustic Martin 11's, a $150 value. Now how ya gonna beat that! .

: This vintage YAMAHA is one of the greats folks and here for your serious consideration today at Joe's Vintage Guitars.... This is the Classic Vintage Yamaha FG-200 - Nippon Gakki body seems the same specs as the famous FG180...hummm? interesting She's been lovingly played for nearly 40 years, its beautifully aged now with a great feel & patina only found on real vintage guitars of this age and caliber. This guitar really has nicely opened up over the past 40 years and you just don't get booming bassy tone like this one with a new guitar thats for sure. This example is not mint but is beautiful in its own right, it does have a few nicks, dings and wear but nothing really bad at all really she just looks the part of the 40 year old Martin D28 vintage guitsr. A lot of guitar for not a lot of cash... Vintage aint goin down..get her at a great price today! Let me know...thanks for your interest, Joe email me: gr8bids@comcast.net This is an early one from the Nippon Gakki plant and has a surprising boom even for or a 200 same as our great old red lable FG180 for that matter with no real decernable diference. I cannot find a serial number but is believed to be late 60's - early 70's This old girl has Excellent low end sound!!! and tone on this guitar is wonderful - it really booms! Condition: Average vintage wear wich includes minor pick wear, scratches dents & dings for an old vintageguitar. but no cracks to be found, straight neck, trussrod is functioning properly, very good frets still playing well all the way up & down the fingerboard with no funny buzzes or dead spots... Frets 1 - 5 ( cowboy cord area )have medium play wear but still plenty of life remaining no problemo. action is very good at 3/32 1st E string @ 12th fret. Tuners are the original and in excellent working order. Bridge plate is securely fastened to top. We have just as a precationary installed A PlateMate brass plate has now been installed to any prevent further wear to bridge plate which is common among these vintage guitars. This brass plate has also contributed to its big booming tone now is even a more rich sounding competitor to a vintage Martin D-28... FRESH SET UP...with Martin Bone & Saddle... this guitar is a wonderfull fun guitar to play lots of bang for the buck factor here.. This guitar is overall a very solid well built guitar that is standing the test of time it also is a great sounding vintage guitar that plays very nicely. Ya can't go wrong with this wonderful vintage Yamaha FG Nippon Gakki guitar Has a new bone saddle and Martin Silk Steel strings. No case included but will protect and properly package for shipping. PlateMate product works very well and is easily removed if desired. To my ear it enhanced this boom-box's sound quality and is described by the manufacturer as follows: If you want to protect and enhance the sound and tones and balance out string volume of your acoustic guitar, Mitchels Plate Mate is the way to go. Mitchels Plate Mate is a small piece of brass that is applied without using or altering of tools, and is installed as fast as you can change a set of strings. This was invented and patend mainly to prevent damage caused by ball-end strings on the acoustic guitars bridge plate, it is also proven to enhance volume, tones, and balances out string volume by one of the best acoustic guitar makers in the world. Mitchels Plate Mate will protect your guitar from ball-end strings pulling up threw the bridge plate and possibly cracking the bridge or pulling the bridge off the top of your guitar which would be a very expensive repair bill. It also protects your bridge pins, and saddle by making the string windings stay down in the string holes where they belong. I have used Mitchels Plate Mate in guitars priced from $100 to $50,000 it doesnt matter the price just protect your prized posetion or investment. .

1987 Fender F-210 D-18-28 Martin style Acoustc made in Japan $ 329     1987 Fender F-210 D-18-28 Martin style Acoustc made in Japan $ 329

Here we have a well made in Japan kinda rare to see these vintage Fender Japanese acoustics now days... interesting well built and is still beauty ..its all mahogany body & neck are very well constructed , offering good cross braced body ala D-18/28 seems to be awfully similar?..to my vintage Yamaha FG180 or 200 Nippon Gakki.....that is to say pretty darn nice!.. almost the same guitar but for the Fender's more stylistic headstock top shape that differs from the vintage Yamaha... this was clearly built for Fender as there import in those days Japan offered more competitive pricing to us manufactures to produce there line...this offering is really quite a nice guitar in its own right... so now its nicely aged well over the years..nice ring tone to it now, its very good overall condition, but sometime in its past history it received a doink to the binding on the back side lower bout a binding touch up repair has been done ...to the back lower bout and is about a foot long area -replaced ..its on the back bottom like I said so its really out of sight and is out of mind the remainder of bindings are otherwise 100% very nice beautiful actually nice looking tortious style..the rest the body has a few nicks or scars not to bad looking though a real vintage Vibe to it with no major cracks or warpage the bridge & top are tight and flat so its a very sound playing instrument, 1 changed tuner. The minor abraiions had been lacquer filled to preserve the original finish integrity ..we just built up low spots with matching lacquer to level off to prevent further degradation pealing or chipping those areas have been french polished built up and then excess has been removed elsewhere leaving only the low spots filled then we polished to gloss and well it looks ... pretty darn GOOD now.. she's preserved & fully ready for another 30 years of play... this example has a NICE NECK and she plays great....Worth preserving?...I think so See pics please... This guitar has no abrasions wood cracks or issues at all just a vintage guitar thats surprisingly such a fine player...action is good not too high at all and it still has room to lower the saddle or nut even more you so the neck set is very good for many years no worries..its a nice sounding & playing 25 years old vintage Japanese guitar...and is overall a nice looking vintage example..stays in tune nicely and is a joy to play... nice vintage Japanese guitar this guitar is JVG Rated: 8.5/10 very good used guitar as described ...still after 25 years it looks & plays good. Interested in this beauty let me know..Thanks for looking, Joe JVGuitars@gmail.com Pics soon to come stay tuned!.

74 FENDER F310 D-28 by FujiGen Gakki Japan $ 499.00     74 FENDER F310 D-28 by FujiGen Gakki Japan $ 499.00

We are very proud to present to you a pleasant surprise I must say from way back when folks this is prime Time beginning of that Golden Era of some of the GREATEST QUALITY Acoustic guitar that FENDER ever had the smarts to Import… that’s right these are Japanese crafted beauty’s . Built back in the day when Japan had the economy riding high while US guitar builders were getting bought out by business folks not guitar builders and US economy was in the tanker just a little brief history reminder… Fender & Gibson were under the gun to cut costs and re-structure if they wanted to stay alive and that they did…. CBS , Norlin…. And others cut back on the high quality woods they once enjoyed and relied upon the reputation the US had for making great guitars basically reputation from the late 50’s – early 60’s To about 68-69 or so…. Then quality went down no doubt…. Right then it was prime time for Japan Luthiers to strike and they did…they stepped up the quality from the funny toy grade guitars we saw here in the states back when I was a kid you could get a decent cute player electric guitar at the Pawn shop in about 1965 for about $69.00 in fact my dad bought my 1st electric guitar there for $69.00 … I loved it—it was a “ KENT” and it sounded very good threw my Silvertone amp….. ..Kent is a offspring of Greco which is a factory behind making many brands buildby Fujigen Gekki…. Ok what this Fender beauty traces back to the great FujiGen Gakki in 1974 according to its serial number… making this beautifully preserved SOLID TOP Vintage Japanese guitars 40 years old a true vintage guitar in its own right. It was during the time when this guitar was built that the Japanese Luthiers set out to make some of the most righteous guitars period… fit – finish - workmanship & materials used are the good stuff folks….. This full size Dreadnought Acoustic guitar is a replica of the Martin designed D-28 known to be one of the finest most prolific designs the US Martin & co ever produced. This Fender F310 is of a High Quality example, The top is Solid Spruce straight grained with some nice figure and wow it has 40 years of patina to its color and finish and overall vintage appeal is Very strong… I was drawn to this example it sounds deep and rich and complex with an excellent volume And its highs ring threw when cording and finger picking , This guitars Back & sides are true to the masterful D-28 desigh …. High quality ROSEWOOD just beautifully grained see the pics for more detail Its absolutely beautiful back – sides are all east Indian Rosewood the fingerboard may be Brazilian Rosewood by its looksa very high grade non theless, the bridge appears to be Ebony wood….. the Bridge is nice and flat to its top which is also nice and straight, action is very good medium low and adjustable. The top has a couple of minor doinks see the pics not bad at all and certainly nothing remotely enough to detour from its vintage Gorgeous looks , no cracks anywhere found , bindings are very food, overall this guitar is an EXTREMLY CLEAN example aside from the afore mentioned . This guitar is in top Vintage used condition and is easily a 9//10 Fit and finish I suggest this was built but a high level Journeyman and can compete or compare with A nice vintage Yairi or Morris or Gibson or Martin for that matter…. .

80 BANEZ V300 TV Japanese Vintage Acoustic guitar great quality $395.00     80 BANEZ V300 TV Japanese Vintage Acoustic guitar great quality $395.00

This is a beautiful example of a 34 year old Japanese crafted Ibanez acoustic guitar that has the tone and the beauty, Love the Sunburst finish on this guitar that did a beautiful job with the thin Poly finish it stands up to the test of time and still shines like glass today just have a good look. It has a Spruce top… cant tell because of the sunburst if its solid or not but will assume its laminated…. Back – Sides & neck are all very nice grade Mahogany. Fit & finish as good as a $2000 guitar of today but this beauty has well aged woods now being well over 33 years old you could spend 3 x times the money and not get a better vintage guitar . The tone is surprisingly rich and with good volume it makes an excellent strumming or fingerpicking guitar. Its playing string action is very good making it a breeze to play and fun. The neck is real nice substantial and a medium profile with a soft V it feels like a vintage Guild from the 1960's ... nice job Ibanez!...Its in very good vintage condition too with several minor doinks to its top and a couple minor on the back and so on but overall its in very good condition both structurally & cosmetically and looks very good overall. The neck's frets are still good and fingerboard and frets have been lightly polished as has the entir guitar cleaned hydrated and polished and just look at the results, a new Martin bone nut has just been fit & installed as well as new Martin Marquis 80/20 Bronze light gauge strings, nicely setup to play very well like a much more expensive guitar now. Original tuners are doing a great job to this day some 34+ years later... Here is a very good Japanese Vintage Guitar of quality for a very good price too, She is not new or mint of course it has doinks and just a couple of fine hairline checks in its top I did not see at first its very hard to see but they are not wood cracks just fine hairlines to the finish and of no structural consequence what so ever. This guitar Plays and sounds very well and will make someone very happy its condition is JVG rated at easily 8.5/10 very good vintage, neck is straight without cracks fit and finish and workmanship are all in the excellent range. Great Japanese guitar for a great price… The 1980 Ibanez V300 TV, crafted in Japan over 33 years ago. This guitar plays GREAT! .

91 TAKAMINE F349 Mahogany D-18 style HQ Japan sold     91 TAKAMINE F349 Mahogany D-18 style HQ Japan sold

SOLD OUT; Here we have another great vintage Takamine this one is a timeless classic recreation of the trusty and also great sounding Martin D-17 , this fine Takamine F349 example was well crafted in Japan nearly 24 years ago. This guitar is a very good++ vintage Japanese guitar and has been well maintained and plays amazingly with great low action still to this day all these years later. Its made of all Mahogany( other than rosewood fingerboard & bridge ) that is a high grade solid Mahogany neck it really has a nice substantial feel to its medium profile with a 1-11/16ths width at the nut, The sound box is also ALL Mahogany and it offers a nice rich vintage tone one might expect from the company Takamine has copied in this case the Martin D-17 directly, This example’s cosmetic integrity its fit and finish to this day is still pretty nice not exactly like new vintage but is JVG rated at very good with NO major cracks at all and NO finish checking = none – . she did have some small paint chips here and there that we easily matched with clear mahogany stain lacquer applied with a brush tip to the spots only and one spot on the lower treble bout where 3 discolor spots were ( cold be from factory ) it looked original anyway I touched that up a bit as well later I buffed the touch ups back she looks much better now and this will also help to preserve its original finish integrity as well as keeping up her beauty. Great low and playing action on this one it really plays with ease Take a good look she still shines like glass and her sound is clear and the volume is very good, and tone is vintage sweet from its well Good and well aged tone woods attribute to making this guitar sound as good as she does. This F349 model is a full size Dreadnought as and she is faithful in its shape & size of the vintage Martin D-17 it copies other than its original design Takamine headstock shape… a very cool D-17 guitar, its 23+ years it’s obviously not new or mint but is surely vintage beautiful with its age and genuine warmth & patina and yes a few minor doinks but nothing to detract from its overall appeal. Please look her over well feel free to ask any questions. This is a nice players guitar and is sure to please. It is JVG Rated 8.5/10 very good+ Vintage used condition. WYSIWYG .

83 HONDO D-18. Law suit style D-18 great $ 259.00     83 HONDO D-18. Law suit style D-18 great $ 259.00

Ok I know Hondo? .... But this is a good one folks its got a lot going for it really have a closer look, its actually built well it is a beautiful vintage guitar in its own right its condition and patina good looks good sound and easy playability make it an excellent entry or back up choice into vintage guitars, The Top appears to be solid 2 piece center seam spruce top you see grain going from top to bottom with really beautiful straight grain with flame type figuring that is surprising on a Hondo it's unique in that feature and it has that patina I love it caught my eye big time as I got close I couldn't believe it was a Hondo, it's logo has that same font as old Martin & Takamine used this one has the look and feel, but it's action was a little off spec , so I fixed all that it has great action now it's neck set and angle was excellent and I ended up changing its nut & saddle out for Martin born nut & saddle set and a new set of 80/20 strings, this guitar has good volume and sweet tone it rings clear and true with good intonation. It's in very good to excellent vintage condition, it's body & neck has no cracks , no finish checking and still shines like glass it's beautiful just have a look, it's not new or mint it has a couple drinks on its top and a couple on its back too but besides those it's exceptional vintage and plays easy with good low action with plenty of saddle left to lower more down the line of ever needed it's set up to meet or exceed Martin specs for playability. This is a lot of vintage guitar for this kind of price WOW! .

78 Vintage Takamine F375s Brazilian Jacaranda Rosewood 3-piece back     78 Vintage Takamine F375s Brazilian Jacaranda Rosewood 3-piece back

Lawsuit Takamine F375s NO WORRIES WE HAVE SEVERAL OF THESE contact Joe @ jvguitars@gmail.com if you want one of them Hand built in Japan and still in excellent vintage condition! Build type is Rare Exotic Tone woods series Jacaranda Brazilian Rosewood back-sides-fingerboard & headstock overlay JUST Gorgeous. Its workmanship is really top shelf by any standards, We installed and set up with Martin Marquis 80/20 strings 12's, as well as setting this guitar up with a New bone nut & saddle, Condition is very good with a few minor hard to see scratches on its back you have to look closely sometimes at an angel ( clear coat only not threw to wood ) general play here and there as any 37 year old guitar that has been played would get... dinks and such but nothing major to detract from its obvious outward beauty, This example has an excellent neck its 1-11/16th's at the bone nut, fingerboard is very good as are the frets at 90%, its straight and has a nice meaty feel, has the Martin design detail of the Diamond Volute on back, original tuners are excellent as well, a warm vintage vibe to this 37 year old vintage Gem. Tone is rich with good volume she Sings well!!! JVG Rated 9/10 higher if it wasn't for the few minor clear coat scratches in its clear coat not to the wood that I can see more like swirls and such may be possible to fine grade 3000 wet sand and polish out its possible if it doesn't sell soon when I get the chance I'll do it, its a commitment because it may not sand out alone it may require a few thin clear lacquer applied and buffed out to cure it forever if so a guitar of this caliber deserves the attention.. ( the price will go up after I do that work ) and that really doesn't have to be done to make this guitar just very good -excellent vintage it would bring it very close to mint!.... aside from the few minor scuffs this guitar still qualifies as vintage excellent right now, just thought I would point those out. So to be clear about this listing the way you see it now is the way it is offered. Its a F375s and not the EF375s yet This guitar has a factory installed transducer type pickup installed and it sounds wonderful, Its said to have been installed by original owner in Tokyo by Takamine shop its a very clean job I call it CLEAN where they do not make extra unnecessary holes for output jack instead they use the END PIN hole and its a combination strap pin and or output jack, So this guitar is either Acoustic or Electric really nice in deed in SUPER Condition well above average. This beautiful instrument comes with its original hard shell case it to is in very good vintage condition its heavy duty molded type with plush black interior all functional fully. This is the total package. Contact Joe to buy: jvguitars@gmail.com .

1977 Takamine F370S Brazilian Rosewood dreadnaught MI JAPAN     1977 Takamine F370S Brazilian Rosewood dreadnaught MI JAPAN

JVGuitars is very proud to present to you yet another wonderfully aged High end Law Suit guitars out of Japanese it is a hand crafted acoustic guitar built well almost 40 years ago, what many may not know is that Takamine on these high end exotic tone woods models were master built by using well aged tone woods of 25-30+ years of age at the time when built making this a true vintage guitar in its own right. This example has been very well maintained and taken care of as you will see, this is a California guitar and has not seen much of the ravages of extreme weather and other extreme changes that can damage 0 warp – dry our and Split – crack and otherwise severely damage a perfectly good instrument so this guitar shows no evidence of any of those common afflictions on the contrary this guitar is rather CLEAN over all,Its beautiful solid spruce top is pretty flat and its bridge is nice and tight as well and its bracing ( same as Martin D-28 ) is all good throughout so this guitar has good bones!, bindings too are all good, frets are good and we dressed and polished the frets and they are good for another 20+ years of play, its neck is excellent!.. Fresh install of a new Martin bone nut and compensated saddle and this guitar is set up with Martin Marquis strings and plays beautifully. The original tuning gears are in place and working excellently too. This guitar is a pleasure to play its action is very good at medium - low more on the lower side of medium and it plays with ease and sounds incredible and has even more saddle room to go lower in future if wanted . This guitar has the LOOK it just has it… its absolutely GORGEOUS with the breath taking 2-piece center seam Brazilian Rosewood back & sides - fingerboard and headstock overlay its truly stunning ,as stated it’s exotic TONE WOODS are of the Brazilian Jacaranda verity and its presence overall is stunning perhaps surpassing that of the Original Martin D-28 they copied/ I will suggest that you be the judge of that see for yourself and have a good look At some old Martins as well this guitar stands toe to toe with any of them. This example is nice and deep sounding and its volume is excellent. This guitar is JVGuitars condition rated at 9/10 vintage excellent , it is not new or mint it has a few minor dings as its over 40 years old, it has patina aging that of the color showing on the bindings have Ambered naturally with age this is what make a vintage guitar beautiful this is in the eye of the beholder. So this would have been a sanctioned build and not the Lawsuit setting them apart from other makers like Alvarez and Ibanez and Aria and a few others in fact Orville is Mr. Gibson's first name Orville Gibson so This is NOT a Gibson but a very professionally built version of the J200 its an excellent high quality copy Beautifully crafted workmanship and amazing woods... must see... previous owner love this one so much they also had it professionally customized with its Grovers and logo in MOP... plays absolutely excellent with its low easy to play string action, and notice its old Gibson correct bridge with the ABR-1 type adjustable bridge for precise intonation adjustments over the 60's Gibson correct nylon saddles... nice touch... Its spruce top is really nicely grained and figured with beautiful Patina of the real vintage gibby.

74 Alvarez 5024 DOVE LAWSUIT era low action Japan Crafted     74 Alvarez 5024 DOVE LAWSUIT era low action Japan Crafted

“Hi folks here’s a classic beauty 1974 ALVAREZ 5024 DOVE Japanese crafted Dreadnought acoustic guitar mid 1970’s which is prime time lawsuit era when Japan was out and out copying the great classic AMERICAN DESIGN GUITARS the classics if you will they sought out to make an affordable alternative to the more expensive American built guitars in this case they obviously copied Gibson right down to the details...Like the open book headstock, the overall size -shape- the bridge detail on this is just like one My friend had as a kid it was his dads but we played it too was a wonderful 1964 Gibson Dove it was 1968 we admired it greatly to say the least but with our pocket books at the time forget about it one of my band mates brought one to practice an Alvarez like this one and it to had the tunimatic bridge installed on it, it made the difference to get your acoustic set up to intonate not new or ding and doink free but vintage beautiful JVG rated 8+/10It shines up quite nicely too. Ok here is the story of this guitar just one elderly owner of this California guitar. I have collected no less than 12 of these classics and have had some put away in our warehouse for about 15 years it’s been out of circulation all these years strings loosened inside a caddalic old Gibson case which is not included with this purchase. kept out of circulation over 15 years and not played that much by its original owner she is in better than average for one of these it’s neck is 1-11/16ths width at nut - medium profile- very good frets and rosewood fingerboard and classic inlays and the dove motif pickguard. I noticed it looks as if the treble side tuners were replaced and he chose to use the opposite side simply reversed... they look fine work the same good so I’ll leave that to you to decide , we can do a Grover tuner upgrade for you installed for $125 additional if requested. Other than ,that the bridge has upgraded to high end fossil pins that resonate tone far superior to the original plastic ones. No cracks in the wood or even finish checking none seen... neck joint also is excellent as is neck angle - set for proper relief it’s Mahogany neck is nice and strateght . It’s beautifully grained Sitka Spruce Top is nice - pretty flat not buldging no such issues it’s bridge is also original and is nice and tight to its top.its body is all mahogany and is beautiful as well have a good look, the back of headstock has what Gibson use to call a black stinger painted on... Gibson did that so did Alvarez... I like this one’ds white Alvarez trussrod cover as well .. truss rod is working as it should... The open book headstock mirrors that of the Gibson with the old style script Alvarez logo looking quite cool in deed... love this era.. ok it’s hard to find these that are not rode hard and put away wet... not this baby She’s a one owner sweetie pie... NO CRACKS - NO NECK ISSUES PLAYING REAL NICE contact Joe to buy it: jvguitars@gmail.com Thanks for looking folks!.

78 Takamine f340 faithful D-18 law suit model Japan Sold     78 Takamine f340 faithful D-18 law suit model Japan Sold

Just SOLD OUT folks Here we have a fine Classic example of a well preserved and faithful to the original design timeless D-18 know as a great Lead guitar with lots of volume and strong upper register for brilliant tone to stand out in the mix.... excellent for rythem and fingerpicking this vintage Lawsuit era Takamine f340 captures the essence of the Originals with a real luthier built instrument amd was made to stand the test of time as it has for over 40 years its hard to believe buy looking more like its a 2 year old ...but its not its over 40 and is a true vintage D-18 in its own right Japanese set out to build the best in this period era to prove to the world... something to prove sorting to gain at that time Japan's economy with doing very well and they outbid the US competors on premium woods... tons of it... they beat the US manufactures to the punch with the earliest Reissue if you will all be it non sanctioned thus the threat of the famous lawsuits ... 40 years old, not a crack or finish check to be seen , absolutely no structural issues, set up is excellent , Martin strings, bone saddle, Top is nice and pretty flat and no pulling or lifting or issues or cracks with that bridge its going nowhere and neck angle is perfect the frets are still 90%++ neck is a medium C profile 1-11/16ths at its bone nut. Truss rod works fine. Nice sealed tuners working excellent they appear to be the originals as well , fit and finish is excellent with only minute impression or hint of a ding here or there but I had to look at it for a long time to find anything, Iv carred this model for 25 years I love it, I have a Martin D-18 and love it but I also own Takamine and have the highest respect for them. Speaking of respect that is what this guitars previous owner obviously had for this instrument its like someone was the cartaker all these years just for its new proud owner... I find this guitar is fun to play and you will want to dig in she has excellent tone. Re: Tone and top... this guitar is the F340 and the lack of the "S" is suppose to mean it is a laminate top.... hold on there I have collected them all with these old Tak's the 307-310-330-340=360-370-375k-375sw and others.... I have had many exceptions to the notion of the "S" stamp... I'v had others un S and found them upon inspection to be Solid Sitka spruce, I'll Im going to say is that with close eye on the sound hole edge where you typically will see the lamination clearly with that seam... and I have seen that on many, the few Iv had like this Tak F340 in this listing ...appears to be a solid grain pattern going all the way down and out of site suggesting its in fact a solid top... that being seen and also consider that Japanese builders can be crafy and know to conceal and or hide seams and such.... not having been there when built one can not say for sure,,, but it would appear to be a Solid top, Hay I dont make them I just restore and sell vintage guitars and this is what i'm selling here a truly beautifully maintained vintage instrument built to the great D-18 specifications by the Japanese factory Takamine over 40 years ago as it came from factory with the exception of the Bone nut/saddle and strings This listing is for the actual guitar seen in the pictures. Accessories we do carry many in stock and are sold seperately. This is as good as it gets folks short of spending the $1700-3400 for an equal condition Martin D-18 ... but if you go back to the 70's the Martin will go up $. The new thing for Takamine is they have released the NEW Takamine F340s in Japan and it has the new modern Headstock design which is fine.... They have a process now days to help simulate the 40 years of aging to the solid top inorder to capture the "real Actual aging" that this 1978 guitar already has its real aging tone that this guitar acquired by earning the old fashioned way... time and as far as the headstock and logo personally I know I'm not the only one but this Lawsuit era guitar is FAR BETTER than that F340s TT for over $1500 please these are under prices by todays standards... todays Japanese cost is $1599 The Lawsuit era ROCKs! mic drop Contact Joe to buy it at: JVGuitars@gmail.com.

1976 Sigma D-35 guitarJapanese exotic Jacaranda Brazilian Rosewood     1976 Sigma D-35 guitarJapanese exotic Jacaranda Brazilian Rosewood

Just in taken in trade is a beautiful law suite era D-35 Copy type from Sigma Guitars these were authorized by Martin to allow Sigma to build the more affordable option to the Martin D-35 and the same applies today. This example happens to be made from some exotic Jacaranda Rosewoods body overall it is in really nice shape to beautiful and not abused so is a great candidate for our upgrade it’s in our shop for a full set up and upgrades to change to Martin bone nut and compensated bone saddle and solid Bone bridge pins , note: original saddle was an adjustable plastic one with the screws and metal base we removed all that and mounted the 2 compensated saddles together to make a super tight solid fit in the bridge and this increased the sustain and volume along with these natural upgrades I also installed a nice set of Grover tuners and a new set of Martin strings, I de-grimed entire guitar and polished it -lemon oiled fingerboard ..neck is nice and straight , it’s spruce top is nice and pretty darn flat for over 40 years old vintage guitar as is its bridge ..... action is good and tons of room on the saddle to go as low as you want with adjustments made to taste... but playing and sounding great right now... Note that it’s lable is missing so based on the 3 piece back it’s definitely a D-35 type. This guitar to me looks a lot like our vintage Takamine F375s we carry many Tak’s and I’ve thought this for a long time that Martin hired Takamine to make these for them under the Sigma name.... sigma went away for many years to recently come back I think China bought the name and has nothing to do with Martin today... but back in the 70’s Takamine did make a great D-35 exotic woods guitar and it looks almost just like this Sigma hummmmmm...... See Pics soon to come gorgeous 3 piece exotic Jacaranda Brazilian rosewood presentation tone woods .... body simply gorgeous Vintage Japanese guitar well over 40 years old not new or mint but very good vintage. for a song. Iinterested ask Joe JVGuitars JVGuitars@gmail.com.

1974 Alvarez 5014 vintage MI Japan 000-18 Martin copy $559.00      1974 Alvarez 5014 vintage MI Japan 000-18 Martin copy $559.00

Here we have a freshly set up great player it’s got the mojo and the playability action and neck set is structurally excellent correct neck angle to this day This warm patina looking classic 000-18 style by Alvarez is about 45 years old with nice low action with plenty of room on the saddle and the trussrod to further adjust to taste. The mahogany neck is really nice and playable feel to it familiar much like the 000- Martin it copy’s medium profile to a soft V it’s 1-11/16ths nut width. It has a very nicely Patina’ed Spruce top that is still nice and flat as is its original bridge, body has black bindings with a mahogany back and sides , it has no structural cracks but some areas look to haver some checking starting up and has multiplayer dings scuffs and scratches but over all still quite a vintage beauty non the less a real vintage guitar of character , and with its attributes I consider this guitar worthy to do our JVG upgrades ... I started with the tuners to a good the full size Rotomatic style Grover tuning gears to replace the 44 year old cheap grade original tuners as seen at same time I removed all its tone robbing plastic for genuine cattle bone nut and compensated saddle along with a set of high end fancy detailed solid bone bridge pins , besides this I did further work to this old but goodie... I really thought this guitar was playing good and bends and such were easy no fretting out really pretty nice but the frets showed minor play with a few slight divots so I did what I consider a minor Fret level ... I didn’t have to take that much off which I like to leave most onboard and was successful and taking a little down uniformly across the full fingerboard then I re-crown and polish them all... and polish the entire guitar without removing its natural patina... overall the finish still is glass like.. Japan masters of the thin poly finish I’m impressed as a painter myself they did them very nicel... thin to allow the acoustics to breath threw the woods... but This poly finish out lasts the old US finishes that were mainly lacquer ... I used lemon oil and re-hydrated the fingerboard and bridge they look like a high quality exotic rosewood as does it’s bridge on this one. Not new or mint of course it’s been well loved and played over its 45 years and has the aged tone woods your going to really enjoy playing... like a 45 year old friend waiting for your next song. she’s Ready for another 45 years of enjoyment with care. Just in and being set up as described above new high res pics soon to come... Available ............. Enjoy! Contact Joe to buy: Jvguitars@gmail.com.

Born May 6 1979. Here we have a sweet upgraded 41 years old 00018 type Law Suit Martin copy to the T ... and now with its aged tone woods aint bad for starts, good action its an EF 307s the "E" stands for electric thats righ this beauty has the original famously great sounding Takamine EQ and pickup on board and the ..." S " is for SOLID spruce top, This represents the TOP of the LINE for this model made in Japan back in 1979. this has a mahogany back and sides and a solid mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard. I just got it in 2 weeks ago and have done some repairs and upgrades to this worthy great sounding vintage guitar and in doing so I have stripped old strings and grime removal cleaning the entire guitar down and Lemon oil fingerboard and bridge and clean and polish the finish of the entire guitar care has been taken to not remove natural age patina. I have adjusted the truss rod and I leveled the frets ( they looked ok to start with not much wear ) so minimal no ruts in frets - re crown the frets and then polish the frets, I have upgraded to include a Martin bone nut and compensated saddle fit -installition and swapped out plastic pins for superior solid bridge pins upgrade solid ebony .... the repairs I needed to do was to fix a back crack from a drop it also hit the binding and slightly extended to that side which has all been permantly repaired and cosmetically improved as well barly showing now from 2 feet away that is solid and done well then perhaps on that drop incident the back of the neck had several ding cashed I could feel that was in mid neck area I sanded down to bare mahogany and removed the dings than sealed-shot mahogany instrument lacquer - clear lacquer and blending to bottom heel and up to base of headstock melting in and polish = POOF gone! and now its as new ..lacquer is a thin skin and is done in multipal coats wet sanding inbetween the blend is seemless and done professionally all done to " Preserve the original finish integrity" and is beautiful now and nolonger an issue for its continuing life and is fully ready to serve for another 40 years. Professionally maintained and ready for enjoyment. I love the sound of these 000 guitars sure to please. contact joe by email at jvguitars@gmail.com pics and details soon to come STAY TUNED!.

1970s Takamine F400 12 string Vintage Martin Lawsuit guitar     1970s Takamine F400 12 string Vintage Martin Lawsuit guitar

Here is seen as it was back in the day is a mid 1970s Takamine F400s that I had forgotten we had had this guitar and we recently moved our warehouse facility content closer to where we are now to our NEW facility and in the move we have discovered several guitars that we missed and this is just one of them. These are just Quick pics for now taken in warehouse lighting with phone kind of crappy not doing this beauty any justice at all, she's beautifu as it is now fully original in her hard case for at least 2 of its decades making this a relitive low miles beauty as they say.... frets and fingerboard are excellent as is the entire body no cracks or checking noted just minimal honest patina wear of a well taken care of vintage acoustic 12 string guitar. This beauty has the Gold hardware of the 400s series as well as the upgraded woods of the F385 similar mahogany version with crrome hardware theis in my openion is the more tonefull example I received one myself as a gift in 1976 my 21st birthday WoW! I was blown away I played my 66 es335 and a 60's strat in those days my first good acoustic was the new Takamine F400s this same model this has the prefered tone woods its body -fingerboard - headstock overlay and bridge are all of the highest quality Indian rosewood back in this day the Japanese manufacturers had and used the better woods than the US counterpart companies like Gibson - Guild and other companys that were struggeling finantially cutting back on the woods itself cost remember the 3 piece non matching tops on some 1970's Gibson guitars I do...anyways the Japan economy at this time was rockin and rollin and they had the woods the best aged tone woods and were built with amazingly find hand craftsmanship at such a fair cost this is an exceptional example as seen here quickly i my warehouse but what I have planned for is I will strip off strings - De-grime fully-rehydrate the woods..polish this entire guitars finish tnot to remove patina but to return to its glass like amazing vintage finish this one has that going on, I'll be adjusting the trussrod threw out the entire set up stages and it doesnt look like much fret wear if any but at minimum I will polish these frets to mirrior finish and if required I would level - recrown and polish them but at this point Im not sure it needs that, I will replace the old cheep plastic NUT-SADDLE + Bridge pins to be replaced by Bone nut and saddle and upgrad the bridge pins to solid Ebony with decrotive abalone dot with brass ring high resonating pins for a huge overall tonal upgrade and of course a new set of high quality 12 strings... I have high expectations for this beauty buy that point this will not take long. This guitar comes with its hard shell case. There is a reason so many greats have recorded with these so many great endorcer pros in these days for the Takamine brand this was built in the hayday for Lawsuit excellent reproductions of the Martin for a fraction $ to find one pretty clean is harder to do and is the trick to getting a great one. New pics will be uploaded when I have coimpleted the upgrade work. If interested to purchase contact Joe at: jvguitars@gmail.com.
