Here we have one from one of the finest acoustic guitar companies in Japan is Tokai Gakki. These are rare and very sought after Gibson Replics that are BUILT-RIGHT in korea. In the seventies Tokai Strats, Pauls and Bass Copies had and still do have a real reputation as the best of the Authintic Replica Guitars. What was their secret? They used all authentic solid woods in the construction, their factory was first rate and each guitar was hand built. This is obviously a copy of a Gibson J 200 series. A Other than the obvious difference - one was made by Gibson and the other by Tokai how do they compare? They are both made with a spruce top the Tokai here has a SOLID SPRUCE TOP and flammed maple solid-wood back and sides. The Tokai & Gibson are both bright and brassy and quite loud guitars. They are both very beautiful just have a good look all round quality of wood & detailed workmanship are great. They both have a lot of inlay work on the bridge and a fancy pick guard and rectangular inlays in the neck. The Tokai has extremely nice flamed sides and back that would represent the word exceptional. The guitar is loud and punchy with lots of treble with a fairly articulate mid range. The guitar is fairly new and the sound will only improve with age - especially the bottom end. The frets are level and each note plays clean. The Tokai is well built and assembled by hand by a real luthier.

These early issue Red Label Guitars from Korea utilize the very same materials that were made in Japan. These components were used under strict quality control and 100% assembled in Korea from the very same vintage wood - components & parts as the Japan made Yamaha's. We have had many of these Red Labeled Yamaha's in the 180's & 160's currently and over the years I see up close and in person the very high grade AA mahogany neck s sides & back & the same nice nickel tuners & hardware the very same one piece solid neck no scarf joint at the back of the headstock area like the later Korean & Chinese examples ... Here we have for your consideration the Yamaha FG 160 Acoustic Guitar Made in Japan in the early 70's from Nippon Gakki factory.
This example is an eary 70's a more RARE version Yamaha FG 160 again this example is the Made In Japan Nippon Gakki and not to be mistaken for the similar Korean version of the FG-160 which is also nice but not the same as these apples/oranges. This example was built over 35 years ago and was built to very high detailed standards as well as some of the best woods available in that time period to compete with the great Martin and now this Yamaha is quite well aged and is a true vintage guitar in its own right. This one has the Amber/Tan label and not the Red Label. The frets have good height and appear newish and though to probably to have had a fret job done sometime in it's past. The guitar has it's natural age and patina with a few expected minor nicks, dings and scratches from a well loved and played instrument.
This fine example is on the way...
We upon receiving we will remove strings clean and detail the guitar oil rosewood and polish finish, set intonation and set up this guitar to play very well and may include new bone nut/saddle/strings we have several of these old Yamahas and they are amazing instruments very well compared to Martin, Taylor, Gibson for there fine construction and playability with amazing tone for this kind of money...

Here for your consideration is a Great 38 year old Vintage G!b$@n Dove Copy Guitar Made in the early 70's by the great Alvarez factory...MADE IN JAPAN This is a copy guitar or Replica and is extremely close to Gibson specs DOVE model of the late 60's early 70's style, Gibson had sued several organized Japanese companies that were building high quality exact "copy Guitars" Alverez was one: This example built using very good AA top grade of beautiful cherry stained nicely grained mahogany sides-back & neck, The top is made of high quality spruce and is now nicely ambered with age see the top's pics for details, THE all important NECK = This one has the best its a rich vividly grained Brazilian exotic Rosewood Fretboard and is gorgeous with its again correct to detail G!b$@n correct mop parallelogram type inlays...Nice Detail & Realism for a Japanese copy don't you think? ... again Like G!b$@n the back of the G!b$@n open book law suit type Headstock the back of which even has the STINGER = see pics, It has good tuners, frets @ 70-80% still good, It plays well prety darn good with medium average action, Sounds good! ...the Cosmetics are see for yourself = overall quite good for its 38 year vintage, it does have dings & some vintage finish check lines on its front & on the back here and there see pics JVG rated /it's in well used not too abused condition much like many of the Old timer Real G!b$@ns of this age, This example clearly is not a new guitar or in mint condition: its anti new or mint in a good way ....In spite of all its age and wear its still clearly an overall appealing beauty in good - very good condition. This example is not only a fun affordable collectible but is also a prime example of one of the Alvarez Law Suit Japanese Vintage guitars. A Great old Alvarez Acoustic collectible Player sure to go up in value over the years and EZ on the eyes.
.
Here we have a very nice find in a well made vintage early 70's Japanese Quality Crafted Martin D35 style Acoustic Guitar. Freshly set up with a new set of Martin Marquis strings and has HUGE TONE. This Premuim grade vintage Japanese guitar is made very well using high quality woods as seen in pics. The top is a nicely grained well aged amber Solid Spruce. The woods used on the back & sides also seems to be solid wood construction with the matching grain inside & out. The woods used on the back & sides appear to be the more exotic woods varity and is possibly Exotic Brazilian Rosewood by the looks of it either way its got WoW!...factor going on see the pics for those details and decide for yourself if its nice enough for you but one thing is for sure its definitely a quality made example. The neck a fast slim tape and is EZ to play and it is made of good grade solid Mahogany with no scarf joint like many imports today and this Mahogany is also nicely grained and is higher grade them most. The finish outside of minor dings and such is still quite beautiful and glossy. The Headstock is the classic Martin vintage style size and shape and it also has the nice Rosewood overlay ...This guitar Plays very well and it has the sweet tone of a quality made 70's Japan Vintage Law suit model. This one has no logo on it now the original owner removed it long ago when he bought it in 1974 he said it had an Ibanez logo decal on it. ( Construction of this guitar is the same as our vintage Ibanez & Alvarez acoustics we have had over the years from this same time period ) it is likely to have been built in the very same factory as either of those. These no logo guitars were commonly produced and exported this way in order to sell them in the US and allow the buyers like St. Louis Music to put the logos they wanted to put on them and side stem some of the LAW SUIT action. The headstock front has a very nice Rosewood overlay much like the Martin D35 has. The finish looks very thin glossy everywhere and it loos as if it may be a Lacquer finish its shines to a brilliant luster when buffed again either way its very nice++. We have cleaned this Beauty and then installed a new set of Martin Marquis strings for the new proud owner of this guitar and it plays and sounds just great and is a pleasure to play and hear and is EZ on the eyes too. JVG Rated = Its in very good - excellent 8.5+/10 vintage original condition its not new or mint but is sweet.
Another great Japanese Vintage Guitar for a song.
This one we call #7
.
Here we have another great find this one is real desirable and collectible Law Suit era made in the mid - late 70's and was Crafted in Japan. Beautiful Japanese Craftsmanship and just like a D-18 Style Acoustic with wonderful woods used in its construction see ths choice Sitka Spruce top, with the beautiful Cherry Red Mahogany wood sides - mahogany back and mahogany neck. This Martin style gem is a real players guitar with very good overall playability and action this one is a good one and it plays easily. This 32 year old Vintage guitar one offers wood that has aged and has nice tone. We have cleaned her up and installed a new set of Martin Strings light Marque's, This finish is GREAT LOOKING on this beauty she polishes up very well shows nicely almost unbelievable for its 32 year old wood & finish it looks to be in great shape all these years fiish is still glossy and shines up to look amazing it may be lacquer its not thick poly and vintage correct. The sound it projects Rings like a bell...Condition is JVG rated at a conservative 8.5-9.0 Vintage very good - excellent original condition no cracks or repairs ever.a few very minor nicks or dings here or there but nothing noticeable see pics for those details so see if its clean enough for you, she's a beauty! The neck= Medium profile neck with what looks to be the most high end gorgeous Brazilian Rosewood used on both the fretboard and the bridge see close ups for that detail both are very vivid dark grains running threw for lost of interest just what I would hope to find on many real Martins but not many exhibit this grade rosewood WoW. I believe the top -sides & back are most likely laminated but the Japanese are tricky with that so its hard to be 100 sure but either way is s super nice example as many Gibson's & martin for that mater used laminated construction options too. This guitar is about 32 years old I got it from the original owner said he got it when he graduated High School and he removed a sticker that read made in japan on the back of the headstock when he took it home in 77. This one spent the past 12+ years under the bed in its original Chipboard case and is included that comes with this purchase..
.
Here we have a very nice Vintage well mellowed Premium built Japanese Crafted Martin D-28 Style Acoustic your your serious consideration...This one is one of the most prized Red Lable Modle made in Japan of coures Nippon Gakki and the #180 modle is one of my favorites for great booming tone like the Martin in so many ways.Huge tone and lots of it in abundance you will not be dissapointed with this fine example while its not new or mint looking is is very beautiful in its own right thats for sure with is Golden aged Patina to that Georgous Spruce top as well as the AAA choice Mahogany used in its construction of the Back - Sides and neck... Please see pics for those details. The neck is nice and sortof heafty and meaty a good hand full and not such a skinny neck as many from Japan offer..The Rosewood is prety dark and is poris with multi color complex streaks running threw it like Brazilian rosewood it may be? The neck joint is excellent no repairs ever. Frets show wear but not effecting play at all yet..Plays wonderfully and stays in tune well with those original Yamaha tuners. Truss rod cover in tact and turns freely... action is good and this guitar plays very well with exceptional volume and rich warm tone one would expect only from a guitar over $1500 like Taylor, Santa Cruz, Martin , Gibson and the like...This one has it!..
Fiish still looks Beautiful again this is a real vintage guitar with its share of minor scratches and dings but 0 cracks, or repairs and is easily 8.5/10 or better that is why its JVG RATED @ very good - excellent used -vintage condition rating... comes with a free Chipboard case or an optional used Hard Shell case from $90.00

Alvarez Acoustic Guitar
Model 5052
Lawsuit Guitar
Jumbo Body
Sunburst
Made in Japan
Weight: 4.4 Ibs
This guitar is a true vintage guitar at 35 years old has aged very nicely...she's a great player and its highly likely was part of the reason why Gibson filed suit because of guitars like this Jumbo J-200 lawsuit guitar from that era. Alvarez made this guitar nearly identical to the Gibson J-200 as you may well already know, With this Old Alvarez you can be assured that it is a well built copy is also a very nice sounding guitar and is quite smooth playing guitar. If you've played the Gibby J-200 then you know what beefy tone these Jombo's possess and this one paticularly has very smooth neck feel with EZ control.
She's a real boomer!
This is a used, vintage guitar.
Better pics & info soon to come....

Here we have old "3-hole" this is another great Japanese Vintage Guitar! this one is over 40 years old wow! ...its wonderfully aged woods contribute to its rich great sound... this example is one of the greatest Martin style Copies from one of the finest "law Suit" Acoustic instrument builders of Japan Yamaha Nippon Gakki...This model is the very popular FG-140 RED LABEL ....JUST IN!...so more info soon to come please see the detailed pics of this guitar
for a link to many more pictures ( 40 ) or more from every angle
Very good- excellent condition
If your wondering why we call this one "3-hole" is because someone in its past life had an electric pickup of some type and it came to us with 3 tinny holes in the top... we have since filled the 3-tiny holes one on upper treble bout and 2 below the rosewood bridge... we filled & clear coated so its all solid and is very hard to see but are their also a fine hairline crack threw the finish exists at the bottom of the neck the original owner said its been their more than 20 years and has not changed and is solid...if wanted after sale for free at your request fill sand it and fill with lacquer and sand and buff smooth I expect that would do the trick to cosmetically improve the look of that but its really fine as is... What is rare about this oldie but goodie its all original and even has the original gold lined Yamaha logo Hard shell case in pretty respectable shape too...see the extra pics ( I will have a link to those pics posted later ) for those details... Great sound and pretty EZ to play too I just Cleaned it to remove the grime but leave all the original patina and also dehydrated the woods and she drank it up and after drying we finished it of with a fresh coat of wax finish was applied the woods still shine like a shinny new dime.. great old guitar.. JVG Rated in Very good Original Vintage condition with its share of natural play ware visible upon closest inspection of the neck width is 1-3/4 @ nut and the action is set good at 3-16ths @ 12th fret.. the fretboard and frets still playing well no need for a refret some fret indentations yes but its still plays just fine at 80+%, top has aged naturally with nice Patina now and has several fine finish cracks etc..same as a well loved and played 40+ year old Martin would have at several thousand dollars less than a 40+ year old martin. This guitar has been restrung with New Martin Marquis Strings and sounds great...This one you have the option of buying an original vintage Yamaha Hard Shell Case..these cases are rare and hard to find now the handle was warn and has a replacement quick fix and it works perfectly...just $69.00 additional

Made by Luthier Kuzio Yairi for Alvarez of Japan this is a professional grade instrument made from the best materials by very precise and accurate detailed minded luthiers. Yairi's guitars are one of the highest respected builders of fine acoustic guitars in the world and I have had Martin's , Taylors, Santa Cruz, Gibson's & Guilds in stock and I must say we are very proud to carry many fine Alvarez Yairi guitars today in stock. Yairi's truly are amongst the VERY BEST of them all and available for a fair & reasonable affordable cost when compared to the other mentioned quality brands. Yairi's attention to detail is superior and the workmanship is absolutely second to none, in the 80's & early 90's the woods Yairi's chose to use was some of the best available and these older guitars today have really mellowed and the sound has opened up their tone has actually improved over a comparable new example. Here we have a wonderfully find its built is quite high quality and was crafted in Japan this is a very nice Vintage Martin 000 Copy from 1977 by the looks of the build style & quality of woods used which is very nice Spruce top lamiated and Mahogany neck -sides & back this example looks identical to our FG140 Yamaha red lable guitars. This 32 year old Japanese Martin copy is marketed as Sterling on the headstock and the lable reads Atlas the mod# is F-211 and the serial# 20265... made in Japan quality through and through with a wonderful patina just have a good look at the pics. The bridge looks to be vivid Brazilian Rosewood as may be the fretboard as well can't say for sure but it is very nice. This one is even X braced just like the Martin. This one is a very good sounding guitar easily as good sounding as the Yamaha FG red lable without the price ..which we consider to be great!. The action is prety good and its EZ to play and it stays in tune nicely and the intonation is also good. The neck profile is kind of on the meaty side ( for most Japanese acoustics again same for the Old Japanese Yamaha FG Red Lables ) this example has a very good feel to it its " U " shaped and is 1-5/16" @ the nut..action at the 12th fret is 3/16ths. JVG Condition rated 32 year old vintage not new or mint but easily 8-8.5/10 very good condition... please see pics for cosmetics...overall very good-excellent vintage original condition.

This is a very rare Vintage 1979 Washburn D26S this guitar SO MUCH a Martin- look alike, The feel of a 30+ year old Martin and amazingly so is the & sound!!!!. This is a very nice guitar that has been well cared for over the past 30 years the guitar shows much age Patina and some wear and the neck of this is so nice it plays so easily it almost plays itself.. This one has the true high end Martin characteristic of superior Mahogany which this guitar has as well as the classic Diamond Volute carved into the back of the neck please see pics...the action is low and again plays like a dream... its vintage looks are sure to warm your heart when you hear this Gem...truly sounds & plays like a $2500 guitar..coming into its vintage stride at around 30 years old now its aging to perfection...no for the minor issue it has had a top brace loosen up in its past and has been professionally re-glued and has remained stable for 8 years in its post repair condition.so in that area which is in the sound hole area the tip dips less than 1/16+ and is barely noticeable unless looking for that...it has had a couple cracks on the top also dealt with back then and is doing just fine now with no problems at all...so that being said this is still one of the best built best sounding Martin style guitar you can own for a fraction of what its worth or what the guitar this one sounds exactly like with its $2500+ PRICE TAG...THAT BEING SAID THIS IS A GREAT GUITAR AND A RARE FIND

Here we have a great oldie but a goodie... she has aged and mellowed tone that simply put takes time to achieve in this case about 30+ years. This is a 1980 luthier build kit was purchased as a guitar kit from Martin & company in 1980.. about the the woods... Solid Spruce Top, Old growth Brazilian Exotic Rosewood Back & Sides with a mahogany neck.. The fit & finish work on this guitar is top notch neck joint is perfect. The fretboard shows very little wear likewise for the frets. The finish is like glass very professional grade player.. note: the top has a few slight cracks may be finish only and are not that EZ to see...please see the pics for those details, also a slight lift to the lower left corner of bridge its slight and its rock stable and has not moved in years and it does not effect the action or play at all and would be an ez glue -fix...this in no way has interfered with its playability or its rich sound...this quality guitar sounds & plays amazingly well, at pro level with very good action from its medium slim taper fast neck its width is 1-11/16th at the nut... .

Here we have another excellent FG160 for your serious consideration the Yamaha FG 160 Acoustic Guitar Made in Japan in the early - mid 70's from Nippon Gakki factory. This example is an early 70's a more RARE version Yamaha FG 160 again this example is the Made In Japan Nippon Gakki and not to be mistaken for the similar Korean version of the FG-160 which is also nice but not the same as these apples/oranges. This example is MADE IN JAPAN and was built well over 35 years ago and was built to very high detailed standards as well as some of the best Exotic grained Honduran Mahogany woods available ( see pics please for that detail ) in that time period to compete with the great Martin and now this Yamaha is quite well aged with beautiful patina of a true vintage instrument and is a true vintage guitar in its own right. This one has the Amber/Tan label and not the Red Label but the golden lable. The frets are very good - original. The guitar has it's natural age and patina with a few expected minor nicks, dings from a well loved and adult respected instrument. This fine example is here and in stock... We upon receiving have remove the strings cleaned and detailed the guitar oil rosewood and polish finish, and this guitar to plays very well and optionally available upgrade if wanted please ask us...may include new bone nut/saddle/ we have several of these old Yamaha's and they are truly amazing instruments very well compared to Martin, Taylor, Gibson for there fine construction and playability with amazing tone for this kind of money... Here s a link to Harmony Central if you care to rehttp://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews/Guitar/product/Yamaha/FG-160+/10/1 All New pics ... Interested ? ask Thanks . .
Here we have another brilliant example of what Yairi is known best for....that's making THE BEST Acoustics in the world for a fair price.... as good or better than Santa Cruz comps $ $3600 -5000 ...Martins over $3500-5000 ..and several other of the worlds top high end manufacturers of fine guitars strive to make them this nice.... This is an exotic bird...
you know the specs..if you don't know specs look back at our other Yairi DY91 and you can see them... this is an impressive guitar...
Beautiful is only the beginning ... the sound & tone is what all high end acoustics strive for with great volume and articulate fidelity ...you here your rich crisp lows and articulate highs ...great for just about any kind or style of music.. if you want a great sounding guitar , your journey has led you to the right place... please enjoy the pics!
Let me kn ow if you may have any questions or are ready to purchase this fine example...Vintage ... over 32 years to mellow to the rich and warm patina you see here now... better than a new one when it comes to open aged tone I'm convinced that over 30+ years is key to the open tone of a vintage player sure to only increase in resonance and richness and also value.. these older Yairi's are superb. This gem came to us in a funky " wrong case"... I have just purchased a period 1978 correct Alvarez Yairi hard shell case now that is available for what we paid for it $119.00 NOW = its ready for you here today sorry its already Gone!.
Here we have a great vintage Dove guitar made over 37 years ago and it surprisingly looks as if it was made just 2 years ago...it is in amazing shape for this vintage..The woods used in this examples construction do not take a back seat to the Gibson Dove, the top appears to be a gorgeous solid straight grained spruce and it looks to be fine grade stika, the mahogany is of a very fiery high grade beautifully and exotic grain pattern I think it looks like Honduran Mahogany by looking at it in person in good light WoW... You be the judge see the pics please for all those details... as I can see that grain clearly and it waves & looks flames too its exotic back well its hard to say but it looks like Brazilian Rosewood as does the dark Rosewood fretboard & bridge all excellent quality you seldom see today on the new guitars..this is like a 60's Gibson Dove but in the 70's they added the tunamatic bridge feature to the standard adjustable nut of the day this was the high end Japanese models that included this feature for the most part and with the nylon saddles its EZ on the strings and make for a smooth tone transition... I remember when these first came out..our bass player got one of these Doves we were all impressed one band mate had the Gibson hummingbird his was a 66 or so..it sounded beautiful and this cheep at the time Lyle sounded so close we were all joking about that for quite a while...of course the gibson cost him $1100 or 1300 used in those days now that Gibson is $3500 or more.. anyway I digress back to this Lyle.. if you look closely you will find that the frets on this guitar show virtually no wear... bindings are excellent... the Fretboard is rich and dark and looks like Brazilian just like the 60's Gibson... then you see the beautiful correct vintage Pearloid fretboard inlays and the bridge Dove Inlays both aged with natural almost 40+ year old patina just like a vintage Dove would have... not that fake plastic or even fake mother of pearl looking stuff ...not this baby she we built well. As I understand it Lyle was the only Japanese manufacture sanctioned by Gibson and authorized to make Japanese Replicas at this time.. these are among the best quality made and are exact in detail..This guitar even has the famous Gibson " Stinger" on the back of the headstock... this one is a Premium example in every way using only top grade AAA materials with a
fit & finish that not holding back = is equal to fit & finish quality of the Gibson original Dove... the neck on our Lyle is also a nice medium profile 1-11/16 @ nut and is so easy to play the action is less than 3 16ths @ 12 fret that's very good as is the intonation. With just a few minor dings or doinks this baby is a vintage Beauty. JVG rated 8.5-9 / 10 very good - excellent used - vintage condition..
Comes with a new set of Gibson Acoustic strings already installed and ready to play & a the original Case. Also includes the Electric Pickup system by Dean Markley Promac Grand Series Humbucking pickups this sounds huge / booming tone acoustically articulate it is plugged in at the bottom strap pin so no additional holes were made and if you want to disconnect & remove it that is very EZ... however if you hear it ..you'll keep it in... Sounds Great!
