That's right.....the very same ones used in the most expensive and saught after 1958 & 1959 Les Pauls! The values have drifted a little (measure about .03 & .04) as ALL of these originals ones do over time. In fact, I have sold over a dozen or so of these over the past year and these examples are by far the cleanest I have seen in a long time!! I have also NEVER seen any this close to their original rated value, the closest measured is often .07 or .08! Gauranteed to work upon arrival! Please mail with any questions. $225 for the set

HERE IS THE PERFECT P-90 REPLACEMENT / UPGRADE FOR YOUR 54-60 Les Paul Jr 6153706 is the number on each 500k pot for this original 53? loom from an early 50's ES 125 Gibson ….this is THE REAL DEAL HERE FOLKS. This pickup works AWESOME+!!!, but the volume pot is scratchy and can make the pickup cut out altogether at times. So this It is the reason it was prematurely retired years ago. Notice that this pickup bottom plate has the regular mounting holes , as well as the diagonal corner holes as used on early 50's les pauls. The volume pot probably needs to be cleaned or rebuilt to make this wire harness function to it's best and complete capability. I will give that a try here soon when I get the chance. Solder joints ARE ALL ORIGINAL, you get the pickup & the pickup cover, the wiring harness as seen in picture, Both the volume and tone pots, as well as the Original input jack. Your chance to get a great deal on a real piece of Gibson History.
Drop this in your Greco - Tokai - Burny - Orville - 70's vintage Les Paul Jr Replica and stand back! ROCK HISTORY
Also drop in you Real Vintage Gibson Les Paul Jr for vintage Gibson REAL 50's TONE...

Fender began making guitars in Japan in 1982. At that time, ALL Fenders were marked *MADE* In Japan (with a few unmarked exceptions, which I may post another guide detailing). Up till 1997, that's the way ALL Fenders manufactured in Japan were marked: MADE In Japan.
At some point a decision was made by Fender, for whatever their reason(s), to change this to CRAFTED In Japan. And, in 1997 Fender began using the Crafted In Japan marking. During that year - it is my understanding - guitars were marked both "Made" and "Crafted" In Japan. In 1998 and since, all Fenders manufactured in Japan have been marked "Crafted" In Japan.

Gibson Pickup Information:
1956 to Fall 1957: Original PAF. Long magnet, *no* PAF sticker, purple bobbin wire, black leads on both coils, phillips screws on base, ohms can run from 7k to high 9k ohms, black bobbins PAF style bobbins ("circle in a square"), "L" shaped tool marks on feet. PAFs were first installed on lapsteels in 1956. The long magnet dimensions are 2.5" long, .5" wide, about .125" thick.
Fall 1957-1960: Original PAF. Long magnet, "Patent Applied For" (PAF) sticker, purple bobbin wire, black leads on both coils, nickel covers, phillips screws on base, ohms can run from low 7k to high 9k ohms, black bobbins PAF style bobbins ("circle in a square") until 1959 cream colored pickup bobbins are often seen, 'L' shaped toolmarks on feet.
1961-1962: last PAF pickups. Short magnet (starting July 1961), PAF sticker, purple wire, black leads on both coils, nickel covers, phillips screws on base, both bobbins are black again, PAF style bobbins ("circle in a square"), "L" toolmarks on feet. The short magnet dimensions are 2.37" long, .5" wide, about .125" thick (decreased magnet length 1/8").
1962-1965: Early "patent no." sticker, nickel cover, short magnet, PAF style bobbins ("circle in a square"), redish/copper colored bobbin wire (probably happened in 1963), some point in here bobbin lead wires change to one black and one white, phillips screws on base. Plastic on bobbins more durable and bobbins are flat (PAF style pickups often have bowed pickup bobbins), "L" toolmarks on feet.
Note the last version of the PAF (1961-1962) is basically identical to the nickle plated 1963 Patent# pickup (and on guitars with gold parts, probably as late as 1967 Patent# pickups are equivalent to 1961-1962 PAFs, since Gibson used less gold plated parts and inventories lasted longer). Because the wire color changed around 1963 from purple to a redish/copper color (and some other changes, listed above), technically the 1964-1965 Patent# pickups are different than the 1963 Patent# and late PAF pickups (though the tone is very similar). Also keep in mind gold plated PAFs used in archtop electric guitars (especially varitone guitars) can be seen as late as 1965 (yes PAFs as late as 1965!) The reason for this was simple - Varitone guitars had gold plated pickups with one pickup having a reversed magnet. This style of pickup was used far less than a nickel plated pickup. Hence these gold plated varitone equipped archtops are sometimes seen with one or two PAF pickups into 1965.
1965: Late "patent no." sticker with no T-top, covers are now chrome, orange wire, one white bobbin lead, short magnet, phillips screws on base, "L" toolmarks start to disappear off feet (but can be seen as late as 1972), ohms run pretty consistent at 7.5k ohms.
1965-1975 (note overlap with prior bullet point): T-top, "patent no." sticker, no longer has hole in bobbin showing wire, orange wire, short magnet, screws on bottom of base are usually slotted but could be phillips. "L" toolmark can be seen on early T-top pickups.
After PAF pickups were gone, the patent# pickups were next and used from 1962 to 1965. Then from 1965 to 1975 (note overlap) the next Gibson humbucker is known as the "T bucker" or "T top". They are called this because of a "T" that is part of the molding on the front of the two pickup bobbins. These also had the decal with "Patent No 2,737,842" (still the patent number of Les Paul's trapeze tailpiece). The only way to see the "T" is to remove the pickup cover. A small change in late patent# pickups was white PVC bobbin wires instead of black (black was used on pre-1965 humbuckers). Also T buckers can use either slot or phillips head screws to hold the bobbins to the base plate. From 1976 to the 1980s they still used the "T bucker" but now they had the correct patent number stamped in the metal bottom plate (no decal).
.
Named after the founding father of Gibson guitars, Orville H. Gibson, these fully-authorized Japanese guitars came into existence through partnerships
between Gibson USA and various Japanese manufacturers and dealers (such as Aria, Matsumoku and Yamano Music) that extend back into the 1970s.
It wasn't until 1986 when Yamano Gakki took over the distribution of Gibson (and Korean-made Epiphone) guitars in Japan, and later in 1988, decided
to expand their lineup of guitar models, that things really got rolling for the Orville and Orville by Gibson brands.
Yamano Gakki decided to go with a different name for this expanded line of guitars, that were designed in the exact form of the most valuable and sought-after
classic Gibson guitars. It was decided upon to use "Orville" as the new brand name, dedicating the brand to the founding father. As it was decided that some
of these guitars would be equipped with Japanese-made pickups and some with USA-made pickups, they decided to include the post-script "by Gibson" for the
models that had pickups of American origin.
All "Orville" guitars were equipped with Japanese replica PAF pickups, while the "Orville by Gibson" guitars were usually equipped with authentic Gibson USA
PAF ’57 Classics, and sometimes the original Bill Lawrence HB-R/HB-L or Gibson 490s. Other than the difference in headstock logo and pickups, there are no
other hidden or outward differences that I am aware of. Many collector friends have said that they think the Orville by Gibsons are overall better guitars and
while this may be so, many collectors have disagreed with this notion. There were many high-end and mid-range models of these guitars under both logos;
I think mainly that the model number and original price dictated quality, not particularly the logo.
While somewhat confusing, you can determine where your Orville or Orville by Gibson guitar was made, the year it was made, and even the month it was made,
by looking at the back of the headstock. There were 5 different methods used to date Orville and Orville by Gibson guitars and two factories involved with
building them, so We have developed the simple chart below to assist you...
*F = Factory: G, J & K beginning the serial numbers denote that is was made by the Terada factory: the "G" ink stamp means the guitar should have Gibson
USA pickups, and "J" for Japanese pickups. K stands for Kuramae, Yamano's wholesales division.
No letter beginning the serial number = FujiGen Factory-built.
*Y = Production Year
*M = Production Month

Here we have one of Tascam's 8 Track Digital Recorder the DP-01 Digital Portastudio. Tascan has made Hard Disk Recording Simple and so EZ to Use
Tascam has also made this little powerhouse affordable.
Twenty-five years after the introduction of the first Portastudio™, the new DP-01 and DP-01FX 8-track Digital Portastudios make hard disk recording affordable and simple enough for all musicians. Continuing TASCAM's "Capture Your Art" campaign of making recording approachable to all musicians, the DP-01 feature the one-knob-per-function design that has made TASCAM cassette Portastudios the choice of thousands of musicians. And at a price that starts under $400, multitrack recording to hard disk has never been more affordable.
"Cassette Portastudios continue to be among our most popular products," says Jim Mack, Division Manager of TASCAM. "While much of the reason is their low price, musicians also appreciate how easy they are to use. We approached the DP-01 by trying to make it as uncomplicated to use as our other Portastudios, and I think we've succeeded. When you combine that simple interface with its low cost, I believe that the DP-01 is a breakthrough product for musicians who are ready to break into recording." You can make your own CD;s now with this unit.
The DP-01 has two mic inputs on ¼" TRS jacks for dual mono or stereo recording. Its eight tracks record at uncompressed CD quality to an internal 40GB hard drive, and a stereo master track is available for recording a mix. Each channel of the DP-01 has a 45mm volume fader, plus dedicated controls for pan, effects send, high EQ and low EQ. An LCD display shows meters, editing settings and locate points. The DP-01 has a USB 2.0 jack for file backup and transferring mixes to a computer. There are analog RCA line outputs, a headphone out and S/PDIF line output.
• 8-track recording at CD quality 44.1kHz/16-bit
• 2-track simultaneous recording
• Dedicated stereo mixdown track
• Dedicated controls on each channel for volume, pan, effect send, EQ high and EQ low
• Eight 45mm Faders plus a dedicated Master fader

An accompanying "How to Capture Your Art" guide introduces multitrack recording to beginners, and store displays put products near guitars and instruments where musicians are most comfortable.

PICKUPS
West Coast Series™ Barstow™Active
The Pickup
Here's where Dean smiled on the piezo transducer lovers. He took the same great high performance Barstow™ Passive™ piezo transducer pickup and built into it a discrete Class A Pre-amp. This allows the Barstow™ Active™ to beautifully enhance acoustical reproduction while adding more headroom and boosting the bottom end. And… incredibly it is hidden in the beautiful 24Kt Gold-Plated Gold River™ Accelerator Jack™. Beautiful jack, beautiful sound.
Outstanding Features of the Barstow™ Active™ Transducer:
• 24Kt Gold-Plated Gold River™ Accelerator Jack™
• Discrete Class A Pre-amp—hidden in the jack
• Adds more great acoustic reproduction by boosting the Barstow™ signal.
• Gold River™ Accelerator Jack™ gives guitar more headroom and boosts bottom end
• Stereo End-Pin Jack™ allows adding a passive magnetic pickup (such as Tahoe™ or ProMag™) for true stereo capabilities when using stereo cable.

Premium Dean Markley
PICKUPS
West Coast Series™ Tahoe™
The Pickup
One of Dean Markley's state-of-the-art West Coast Series™ pickups.
Tahoe's special Qwik-Knx™ connector, located on the underside of the Tahoe™, was developed to allow the Tahoe's quick and easy installation or removal.
Because the 24-karat Gold-Plated End-Pin Jack is a stereo jack, you can install a second passive pickup in your guitar for stereo. You could use a piezo pickup (Sweet Spot™ or Barstow™ by Dean Markley) and a Tahoe™, or use a microphone and a Tahoe™ together. Thus, you would use a stereo Y cable to send each pickup's signal to a different amplifier or “channel", setting each channel's tone independently. Use different effects on each pickup; you can get some fantastic sounds. Put a chorus pedal on one pickup and a flanger on the other. Try ideas using effect pedals you think would create exciting sounds.

[edit] History
The Hoshino Gakki company began in 1908 as the musical instrument sales division of the Hoshino Shoten, a bookstore company. The Ibanez brand name dates back to 1929 when Hoshino Gakki began importing Salvador Ibáñez guitars from Spain. When the "Salvador Ibáñez" workshop was destroyed during the Spanish Civil War, the "Ibanez Salvador" guitars were no longer available, so Hoshino Gakki bought the "Ibanez Salvador" brand name rights and started making Spanish acoustic guitars in 1935, at first using the "Ibanez Salvador" brand name, and then later using the "Ibanez" brand name [1].
The modern era of Ibanez guitars began in 1957 [2] and the late 1950s and 1960s Ibanez catalogues [1] show guitars with some wild looking designs [2]. Japanese guitar makers in the 1960s were mostly copying European guitar designs and some of the late 1960s Ibanez designs were similar to Hagström and EKO guitar designs. Hoshino Gakki used the Teisco and FujiGen Gakki guitar factories to manufacture Ibanez guitars after they stopped manufacturing their own guitars in 1966 and after the Teisco guitar factory closed down in 1969/1970 Hoshino Gakki used the FujiGen Gakki guitar factory to make most Ibanez guitars.
In the 1960s Japanese guitar makers started to mainly invent American guitar designs and Ibanez branded copies of Gibson, Fender and Rickenbacker models started to appear. This resulted in the so called Ibanez lawsuit period. After the lawsuit period Hoshino Gakki introduced Ibanez models that were not copies of the Gibson or Fender designs such as the Iceman and Ibanez Roadstar. The company has produced its own guitar designs ever since. The late 1980s and early 1990s were an important period for the Ibanez brand. Hoshino Gakki's relationship with Frank Zappa's former guitarist Steve Vai resulted in the introduction of the Ibanez JEM and the Ibanez Universe models and after the earlier successes of the Roadstar and Iceman models in the late 1970s/early 1980s, Hoshino Gakki entered the superstrat market with the RG series which were a lower priced version of the Ibanez JEM model.
Hoshino Gakki also had semi acoustic, nylon and steel stringed acoustic guitars manufactured under the Ibanez name. Most Ibanez guitars were made for Hoshino Gakki by the FujiGen guitar factory in Japan up until the mid to late 1980s and from then on Ibanez guitars have also been made in other Asian countries such as Korea, China and Indonesia. During the early 1980s the FujiGen guitar factory also produced most of the Roland guitar synthesizers, including the Stratocaster-style Roland G-505, the twin-humbucker Roland G-202 (endorsed by Eric Clapton, Dean Brown, Jeff Baxter, Yannis Spathas, Mike Rutherford, Andy Summers and Steve Hackett) and the Ibanez X-ING IMG-2010.
Sometimes stencil (template) guitar designs were shared by Japanese guitar companies and distributors so an early Hoshino Ibanez branded guitar might look the same as another brand name guitar produced by a different Japanese distributor but only Ibanez, Cimar by Ibanez and Maxxas branded guitars were made for Hoshino Gakki and are the only guitar brand names that have appeared in Hoshino Gakki catalogues. Cimar guitars were not produced by Hoshino Gakki but "Cimar by Ibanez" guitars were produced for Hoshino Gakki by Cimar [3].
The Starfield guitar brand was also owned by Hoshino Gakki. In the 1970s, Hoshino Gakki and Kanda Shokai shared some guitar designs and so some Ibanez and Greco guitars have the same features. The Kanda Shokai Greco guitars were sold in Japan and the Hoshino Gakki Ibanez guitars were sold outside of Japan. From 1982, Ibanez guitars have also been sold in Japan as well as being sold outside of Japan [4].
Many other guitar brands such as Antoria shared some Ibanez guitar designs. The Antoria guitar brand was managed by JT Coppock Leeds Ltd England. CSL was a brand name managed by Charles Summerfield Ltd England. Maurice Summerfield of the Charles Summerfield Ltd company contributed some design ideas to Hoshino Gakki and also imported Ibanez and CSL guitars into the UK with Hoshino Gakki cooperation from 1964-1987. The Maxxas brand name came about because Hoshino Gakki thought that the guitar did not fit in with the Ibanez model range and was therefore named Maxxas by Rich Lasner from Hoshino USA [3].
[4]
[edit] Lawsuit
Harry Rosenbloom, of Medley Music, based in Ardmore, Pennsylvania, was manufacturing handmade guitars under the name "Elger." By 1965 Rosenbloom had decided to stop manufacturing guitars and chose to become the exclusive North American distributor for Ibanez guitars. In September of 1972 Hoshino began a partnership with Elger Guitars to import guitars from Japan. In September of 1981, Elger was renamed "Hoshino U.S.A.", retaining the company headquarters in Bensalem, Pennsylvania as a distribution and quality-control center.
The lawsuit was brought by the "Norlin Corporation", the parent company of Gibson guitars against Elger/Hoshino U.S.A. in 1977, and was based on an Ibanez headstock design that had been discontinued by 1976. Hoshino settled out of court, and by 1978 had begun making Ibanez guitars from their own designs [5].
After the so-called lawsuit Hoshino Gakki abandoned the strategy of copying "classic" USA electric guitar designs and moved to the popular superstrat era in the mid-1980s. The newer Ibanez models began incorporating more modern elements into their design such as radical body shapes, slimmer necks, 2-octave fingerboards, slim pointed headstocks, higher-output electronics, humbucker/single-coil/humbucker pickups, locking tremolo bridges and more colourful finishes.

Ibanez DE7 Delay/Echo Pedal
In the 1970s, the Nisshin Onpa company, who owned the Maxon brand name, developed and began selling a series of effect pedals in Japan. Hoshino Gakki licensed these for sale using the name Ibanez outside of Japan. These two companies eventually began doing less and less business together until Nisshin Onpa ceased manufacting the TS-9 reissue for Hoshino Gakki in 2002.

We are proud to introduce our own line of Aged Reproduction guitar parts lineup.... These M-69 Humbucking Pickup Ring set was designed from scratch professionally by a 30+ year machinist genius old time friend of mine and myself..
he is not a guitar guy but I am..and so I employed his help. I'm a Les Paul lover myself and have had some real fun over the last 20 years or so building and restoring vintage guitars in my own shop. I have some collectors ask me if I had planed on getting into this... I hadn't realy thought it threw so it took some time to develop. The website will be updated sometime in the near future to centrally locate your vintage restoration parts much more easily so forgive me until that time please...anyway here are the details of these M-69 Rings..
1st... research... in an effort to see what was available today I first had get my hands on them...
I had indirectly purchased a set of over the pond & DMC to see for myself..they were pretty darn good I though... but I thought wow they are expensive for just a reliced guitar..but soon I too soon found out they were not as economical to accurately reproduce as I had estimated.. it took us several cast runs and lots of hours to get them perfected this good...
ours are just as good or better then either of the other guy's especially after I have aged them tastefully.
Mine are for a limited time introductory priced at just $200+shipping to get the word out they will soon be $270.00
I had a vintage Les Paul in for restoration work and had real M-69 rings in my possession for several
months and so we made exact molds from the original M-69 rings.. the molds to a while to perfect... and the
cost was as it turned out not so cheap but the product turned out very good
they don't smell like the originals... but the color is right on the money and they look real once I have
aged them... no bubbles on ours either...
Let me know if you want to try a few sets
Thanks.

This is a larger magnet version of the legendary p10Q used on the 59 Fender Bassman. Date code: 220205. Recently reconed with Weber VST parts, it has a 25 watt 1.5 inch voice coil, large AlNiCo drum magnet as used on the P12N and the ribbed seamless cone used in the late 50's P10Q. This one has a vented dustcover to give it an authentic “tweed” tone. Also has a reproduction of the Jensen “Special Design” label on the cover. Sounds fantastic, clean with nice Fender twang at low volumes and breaks up smooth when cranked, big low end and tons of midrange punch. A bit more efficient and punchier with tighter low end than the P10Q.

Vintage correct in the style of the 1960's threw 1970's Gibson es175 as well as other classic ES models. Suitable for any fine fine archtop guitar. I have seen these used on Barney Kessel & Trini Lopes models as well.
Well made old school styling not to heavy and finished plated in gold and chrome. We can also match the vintage hardware on a 60 year old guitar and it will not stand out.
You can send me a pic of your guitar showing me the wear on other parts and I can age to that same degree for a good match. SEE THE TOBACCO BURST ES175 GUITAR ORIGINAL TAILPIECE IS what we have based our JVG-Reborn Old ES175TP replica tailpiece on.

Here is something of a passion of mine the past several years I have been at the bench working for the past 5 years on our latest JVGuitars Reborn Old re-creation from the vintage 60s our own Vintage Basement.... necessity is the Mother of Invention they say this is our own line of vintage RE-Creation pickups I use these now in my Reborn Old line of custom guitars. I was looking for a realistic 1968-69 strat sound.
One of my favorite Strat sounds I ever experienced was from a little Trio came out with an album called Electric Lady Land..I had it on Reel to Real and man it sounded amazing that was an excellent quality recording you can really hear Jimi's tone RING Hauntingly threw to your soul... talking to you directly I knew Jimi personally or at least he could make you feel like that it seemed... anyway I listened endlessly it seemed...
back when I was starting High School the Jimi Hendrex Experience ban came out... wow my band mates and myself could not believe what we were hearing and the sound that Jimi could get from his used strat... That is the classic strat tone in my minds eye...
Sound effects aside when Jimi's strat was just serious as in he meant it and pure sounding pretty clean at times talk about expressive ....WoW
I would like to present a great sounding vintage Strat set made here in USA my own version of one of my favorite year stats tone wise the JVG 69 Reborn Old gray bottoms staggered poles I have spared no expense in the development our building of these aged replicas...
These have been developed over several years of trials and tweaking until this is my finest replica 1969 style pickups I have produced yet- as used in some of our own Reborn Old Str. Style guitars.
I have sourced out some original manufactures of things like vintage correct real fiber bobbins, the same as original grey fiber bottom plates, authentic Formvar , same 42 gauge plain enamel wire, same black and white cloth leads, we even sourced the premium beveled German Alnico rod magnets
•Bridge Pickup 6.5k
•Mid Pickup 6.5K
•Neck Pickup 5.8K
•60's style black fiberboard top plate
•Cloth covered leads
•Alnico 5 Magnets
•Vintage staggered / beveled pole
• Vintage plain enamel wire
•Potted in real Beeswax
. These JVG 69 Reborn Old Strat pickups
Our custom JVG Pickups recreate that vintage tone remember hearing as a kid..great sounding cranked up threw a nice tube amp meant for outstanding tone especially for classic Rock and Blues!!
There are lots of handmade pickups out there- Iknow I'v tried just about all of them personally in my Strat .....really these JVG RO 69's sound Awesome….
as with vintage strats to create a "Humbucking" effect, the middle pickup is reverse wound- now positions 2 and 4 on your 5-way are NOISELESS or for you 3 way old schoolers in between positions are noiseless.
We retail these for $199 for the complete calibrated set- which is less than most any comparable "boutique" pickups out there. You get ALL THREE calibrated pickups, the screws, springs and wiring instructions. These pickups come one way thats realistically aged so they look right at home in your 1969 Strat or Custom JVG Recreation and sounding like the real deal....
PS: I'm still in the basement working & fine tweaking on my Vintage Tele pickups SOON to COME!...

Here we have something I completely had forgot about having and I just recently found in my warehouse while looking for something else. I purchased several of these came with a Lot I purchased from a retiring Luthier shop owner I met back in 2000 at a guitar show.. These came with a deal and so here they are offered to you. These turn out to fit the vintage 1960's Gibson Trini Lopez guitars... cool thing is these have not yet been installed so the upper hole has not been drilled yet ( before you say oh well then... this is a good thing because the luthiers that built these built them by hand for the most part and Eye-balled the approximation of that hold and some line up differently than others of the same model by other luthiers so
if replacing yours you likely already have the hole and it would be nice if it fit yours exactly. well then here is your chance ...you control where the hole goes just line it up and mark it exactly
where it should be ( I use white tape and mark my spot to assure accuracy and drill the hole in your pickguard in the correct location for your guitar and there you have it the perfect replacement pickguard for your 1960's Gibson or even others like the law suit guitars could use this one.
Top quality made in USA the best!
Let me know if you may need the correct mounting bracket and hardware I have that also available for just $35.00 additional with the purchase of the pickguard otherwise its $ 39.99 for the nickel bracket and $ 43.50 in gold.
.

As a huge Allman Brothers fan myself at about 14 years of age I heard Duane Allman ripping up absolutely KILLING on his slide guitar and was utterly mezzmerized by his style and great slide playing I took up slide then and there myself also pedal steel but in studying up on Duane folklore I found he was given a medicine bottle by his brother Greg... it didn't take him long to develop the skills of a master slidesman. also love the Great Bonny Raitt’s beautiful slide work and the big bad JOE WALSH my man with his eternal hit Rocky Mountian Way....
Also I've seen ZZ TOP play live many times and would get up close to stage to see Billy Gibbons workmanship up close And he uses one that looks exactly like this one and seems to be killing with it quite well I might add so can you.
see Billy rip with one right here.

Kanda Shokai was established in 1948 and the Greco guitar brand name was started by Kanda Shokai in 1960 [1]. It was not until 1966/1967 that electric guitar production was begun in earnest with the introduction of Greco Telecaster like models. Kanda Shokai at first used the Greco brand name for the solid body models and used the Canda brand name for their Acoustic models which was based on the company name Kanda (Canda). Also in the mid/late 1960s, Kanda Shokai produced Greco branded guitars based on Hagström and EKO designs for Avnet/Goya in the USA and these guitars were made by the Teisco and FujiGen guitar factories and were very similar to the late 1960s Ibanez guitars based on Hagström and EKO designs.
In the early 1970s Kanda Shokai made Greco Gibson like models with bolt on necks which were very similar to the Ibanez Gibson like models at that time and most of these models had a Greco logo that looked more like "Gneco". By the mid/late 1970s most Greco Gibson like models were being made with set necks and open book Gibson headstock designs. Some other Greco Gibson like models from the 1970s had a different headstock design (more like a Guild headstock design) that had a Greco logo with equally sized letters.
Starting in late 1979 the Greco "Super Real Series" were introduced which were high standard replicas of Gibson and Fender models. In 1982 the Greco "Mint Collection" was introduced which continued the high standard of the "Super Real Series". In 1982 Kanda Shokai and Yamano Gakki become part of Fender Japan and Kanda Shokai stopped producing its own Greco Fender replica models. Since the end of the Greco open book headstock Gibson replicas in the early 1990s, Kanda Shokai have produced various models using the Greco brand name such as the "Mirage Series" (similar to the Ibanez Iceman), various Gibson copies (not using the open book Gibson headstock design), Violin basses (VB), Zemaitis Guitars and various other models as well.
Some notable guitar players that have used Greco guitars include Ace Frehley who used Greco Les Paul replicas when Kiss were on tour in Japan and Elliot Easton of The Cars.

Various models are produced with an Ibanez like headstock design.
[edit] Characteristics
The Greco Fender replicas from the late 1970s and early 1980s are similar to the early Fender Japan guitars as Kanda Shokai own the Greco brand and are also a part of Fender Japan. The Greco Fender replicas made by Matsumoku have Matsumoku stamped on the neckplate and the other Greco Fender replicas were made by Fuji-Gen Gakki. Most of the Greco models included the original selling price in Japanese Yen (Japanese) 円 in the model number (EGF-1800 = 180000 Yen). The "Super Real Series" date from late 1979 to 1982 and the open O Greco logo "Mint Collection Series" date from 1982 to the early 1990s. The "Mint Collection Series" have an open O letter in their Greco logo (an O letter with the top part of the O letter removed) and the "Super Real Series" usually have a closed O letter in their Greco logo.
The Fuji-Gen Gakki guitar factory were the main maker of the Greco guitars in the 1970s and 1980s [2]. Fuji-Gen Gakki obtained a CNC router in mid 1981 for making guitar parts and also began to manufacture their own pickups starting in late 1981 [3]. The Fuji-Gen Gakki CNC router and Fuji-Gen Gakki made pickups were used for the "Super Real" and "Mint Collection" series starting from 1981 to the early 1990s. Up until 1981/1982, Nisshin Onpa (Maxon) made pickups were used in the Greco guitars including the "Super Real Series" and the guitars were made in a more luthier style with no CNC machines used. The Cor-Tek and Tokai guitar factories were also used to make some Greco models due to FujiGen not being able to make some lower priced Grecos in the late 1980s.
There were also some transitional Greco models from 1981/1982 that have a mixture of "Super Real Series" and "Mint Collection Series" features such as a "Super Real" model with an open O letter in the Greco logo instead of a closed O letter. The Super Real EGF (flametop) and EG series higher end models featured nitrocellulose lacquer finishes and fret edge binding and some of the Super Real lower end models also featured fret edge binding.
Medium tenon neck joints with dowel reinforcements were used up until 1981 and standard Gibson style long and medium tenon neck joints were used after 1981. The medium tenon neck joints with dowel reinforcements were very similar to the Gibson long tenon neck joints that were used in the early 1970s before Gibson switched to using a short tenon neck joint. Some Greco models featured chambered (not solid) body designs up to the early 1980s which weighed less than a regular solid body model and also had a slight semi acoustic quality. Some of the current Gibson models also use chambered bodies such as the Gibson Les Paul Supreme.
Some Greco Les Paul guitars up until 1982 had laminated pancake bodies and were based on the similar Gibson Les Paul laminated guitars from the 1970s. The lowest priced Greco Les Pauls sometimes had different woods to the regular Maple and Mahogany combination. Up to 1980 the lowest priced Greco Les Pauls such as the EG450 model have Birch bodies. The lowest priced Super Real and Super Power Les Pauls such as the EG450 and EG480 models from late 1979 to 1982 have Sycamore tops.
The EGF-1800 (flametop), EGF-1200 (flametop) and EG-1000C (custom) models from the 1980 and 1981 catalogues (as well as very early 1982 models) featured "Dry Z" pickups (PAF like pickups made by Nisshin Onpa (Maxon)). The type of pickups vary depending on the guitars original selling price and the Nisshin Onpa (Maxon) made "Dry Z" or Fuji-Gen Gakki made "Dry 82" pickups were reserved for the top end models. The lower end models such as the EG-500 mostly used 3 piece maple tops while the higher end models mostly used 2 piece maple tops. "Mint Collection" models with a K after the numeric price designation (e.g. PC-98K) came with factory installed Kahler tremolo (vibrato) bridges.
The "Mint Collection Series" features vary with price with some of the higher end models such as the EG58-120 model having most of the same features as the "Super Real" higher end models. Most of the "Mint Collection Series" had long tenon neck joints but some had medium long tenon neck joints. There were also some Greco "Super Sound", "Super Power" and "Rock Spirits" Gibson replica models made as well. The "Super Sound" models were mid priced models from the "Super Real" years (late 1979-1982) and the "Super Power" models were lower priced models from the "Super Real" years (late 1979-1982). The "Rock Spirits" models were lower priced models from between 1979 and the early 1990s
[edit] Serial Numbers
Greco guitars have been made by Matsumoku, Fuji-Gen Gakki [4], Dyna Gakki [5] and others as well.
Greco Gibson replicas started using serial numbers around 1975 and pre 1975 models had a Greco logo that looked like "Gneco".
From the mid 1970s to the mid 1990s Greco models have mostly used 2 serial number formats for non Acoustic models.
The first format is MYYPPPP.
M = production month (A=January B=February ... K=November L=December).
YY = year (79=1979).
PPPP = production number.
The second format is YPPPP.
Y = year (9=1979 0=1980 or 1990).
PPPP = production number.
Sometimes a month letter is used in an MYPPPP format.
Since the mid 1990s Greco models have used other serial number formats as well.
Most of the Greco open book headstock Gibson replicas were made by FujiGen Gakki. Some Greco open book headstock Gibson replicas starting from around 1988 had no serial numbers. The lower priced no serial number Greco Les Paul and SG models were made by Cor-Tek (Cort) and usually have Cor-Tek (Cort) potentiometers. The Cor-Tek made Greco guitars have square shaped, brick like nuts with no slope and also often have shielding paint in the pickup and control cavities. Other higher priced no serial Greco Les Paul and SG models were made by Tōkai and the Les Paul models have an EG-75 or EGC-75 model number stamped in the pickup cavity and sometimes have fret edge binding. The no serial Greco guitars made by Tokai have square shaped routing holes at the bottom of the pickup cavities whereas the no serial Greco guitars made by Cor-Tek (Cort) have thinner rectangle shaped routing holes at the bottom of the pickup cavities. Kanda Shokai stopped using the open book headstock design on Greco Gibson replica models around the early 1990s and then concentrated on their other model lines and Fender Japan. Atlansia have supplied body and neck parts for Greco models as well. Tokai currently make the Kanda Shokai Zemaitis and Talbo models.

This is a custom built by JVGuitars with a CNC for accuracy then further hand shaped to vintage spec deep sexy vintage contour body old school. This is a old growth African black limba 3 piece body and is a premium super lightweight very resonant wood that is just under 3 lbs vintage woods we’ve been storing for 15 years and was 20 years old when we bought it. This will make someone a killer precision bass. This color is our custom mix a killer pearl green vivid 3 d looking pearl Atomic GREEN with gold under hue pigment suspended into an instrument lacquer I call this our Atomic Green PEARL metallic and is custom formulated by JVGuitars Iv been painting cars since 1970 and have painted dozens of custom high end cars over 40 years Iv been a Luthier since 1992. This is built to std blueprint of the original parts can vary in size by a few MM between the body and fitting a neck often it is required of the guitar builder to “fit” the neck to a body and that is done by the assembler at time of building this is nothing new this is why Fender would sand neck or pocket use shims and so on to fine tune adjust and or fit , this prep work is to be expected and should your neck or body require you the builder to make the final fit this is ordinary and not a defect and is not returnable for such reasons. This is a no nonsense listing, WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET ... the body seen IS THE BODY YOU GET all that said
