1978 Ibanez 2630 semi hollow body Antique Violin Sunburst SOLD OUT!

Here we have one of the finest es335 type guitars to come out of Japan
This is the top of the line 1978 Ibanez 2630 known to be the predecessor to the top of the line AS200 played my Ritenour,Benson,Scofield the lust goes on and on with top, artists of the day and today still recording fantastic music with this wonderful guitar. It’s unfortunate but I see many of these that have suffered from lack of care - misuse - abuse what have you time has not been kind to the many from 1978 iv seen so, many with the deterioration of the old celluloid pickguards it seems they “off gas” and this seems to play havoc with the bindings on guitars i’v seen it on Gibson’s and others too and this “gas” eats the bindings away they just crumble and begin to fall right off ruining an otherwise would be a great guitar. I am telling you now this guitar has no such issues the bindings are all excellent truly this is rare to find in my experience. This came to me without the original pickguard oddly enough I believe that may have saved this beauty form this fate. I may or may not put another bound pickguard on this beauty I can order the original ... we’ll see... This beauty had the gorgeous ebony fingerboard with the fret edge binding detail is very nice by any brands standards this is a custom shop level guitar overall this 42 year old top of the line Japanese crafted beauty is in played at least 9 out of 10 on its cosmetics impressively figured top and back this beauty has character the original owner changed the pickup rings from cream to black ( looks better IMO ) also took off the flying finger pickup covers , I have those , This guitar has been adult owned and well loved and respected taken care of condition This is a California guitar ..... so no finish checking no cracks no structural issues what so ever, a few minute scuffs or tiny abrasions thus the 9/10 not 10/10 just recently set up and she plays like a million bucks! I’m first long term fav guitars I loved was my trusty 1964 es335 td burst when I was 17 threw to 32 you could play anything on it ..... this Ibanez plays and sounds just as good as that Gibson at a fraction of the cost of what I sold my old 335 for back in the 80’s
